Beginning from their original “two chicks” concept to the new, sexy redesign, the process has led to a huge positioning shift for the company as they go after big targets from boutique hotels to a full retail concept.

We assisted in crafting the brand culture, marketing/PR strategy and are currently designing the website launch and packaging design.

We’re on the cusp of cutting over to the new website with the new brand - it’s
awesome! The feedback has been fabulous and people love the new brand of 2 Chicks
they’re seeing. They see it as sexy, fun and cool - EXACTLY what we wanted!

We began working with eJobs247 with the specific task of crafting a name and brand expression that would resonate with the target market of younger job seekers while also reflecting the core mentorship attributes of the business culture. Through our brand intensive retreat we found a way to play with the attributes of modern Japanese design, adding an element of “softness” to the letterforms and character design.

Meaning “Big Good” literally, Okiyoki is also a fanciful name with a brand story of Oki the apprentice and Yoki, the master who, in the tradition of apprenticeships and parallel to the film, The Karate Kid, speaks to the passing of mastery between one generation and another.

The mascots were developed to complement and personalize the brand and put a face to the embodiment of the brand’s story. They will be used in a variety of marketing expression in future marketing initiatives.

We began working with DBIX Corporation in February 2008. Having already settled on the name for this high-growth, high-tech startup, we went straight into developing the brand idea and core messaging that would drive the design of the logo and other visual styles of the company.

The result was a logo with symmetrical letters of db and referenced the database services of dbix. In addition, the overall design communicates being modern and in motion. An additional touch was the subtle flame of the dotted ‘i,’ which spoke the values of transformation and enlightenment.

The tagline, Enlightened Data, speaks to the technical and non-technical alike and captured the essence and core message of DBIX’s ability to process data from the “meta” perspective.

Starting in the fall of 2006, we sat down with what was known as Podstar Network and began collaborating on discovering the core brand idea of the company. Through this process, it became evident that the current name and brand expression needed major overhaul in order to speak to the power of the brand. Yaktivate became a dramatic re-orientation of the brand that spoke to the excitement of empowering voice through podcasting in addition to a playful pun of an actual yak character. Already reflecting the core informal, playful values of the company, the Yak embodied a human element that was easy to relate to and could translate into different expressions for all of the variety of content for different channels. Commented by observers as a stroke of genius in corporate naming, thus became yaktivate.

Your branding has increased the value potential of our company by thousands-fold. Your work is truly delivered as promised, which is extremely rare in this day and age.
Bonnie Dillabough
CMO, Yaktivate
